Is there a way when compiling a mix in ITunes to fade into and out of a track?

Will the crossfade work at the end of a track, if it's the last track?
I know, I am a moron.

No, it needs something to fade into.

"Make" a track with a few seconds of silence to add at the end.

Um, pardon my total ignorance, but what is the point of crossfading into silence? Do you mean you just want the last track to fade out?

Yes -- Crocus seemed to want the last track on the playlist to fade out, and jailhouse said crossfade won't work without something to cross into.

So not ignorance, you read correctly.

you cannot burn mixes with crossfade

but if you turn crossfade on to zero seconds, it will play the next song without a break inbetween, good for dj mixes etc..
