Foxy "Making Faces," Not Friends

The good news is Foxy Brown's tongue appears fully functional.
The bad news is the embattled rapper, revealed this month to be all but deaf, nearly landed in jail Friday for sticking out said organ and "making faces" at a New York City judge, the Associated Press reported.
Brown, 26, was in court to settle an assault case. But the proposed plea deal didn't get done, and the former Calvin Klein poser reportedly didn't play the model defendant.
The trouble started, according to the AP, when Judge Melissa Jackson accused Brown of chewing gum, a no-no in court. Brown responded by opening her mouth and sticking out her tongue "as if to show her mouth was empty," the wire service said.
It was not clear how Brown knew Jackson was questioning whether the rapper was in the Wrigley way. On Dec. 6, Brown attorney Joseph Tacopina said his client, who'd first copped to hearing loss in September, was now "pretty much totally deaf." At the time, Brown was said to be preparing to undergo a second surgery to fix the problem. The procedure was to be performed prior to Friday's hearing.
But on Friday, another Brown attorney, Joseph Fleming, told Judge Jackson that Brown couldn't hear her.
If Brown's hearing problem remains, her impairment wasn't earning her sympathy from the judge. "I don't like her attitude," Jackson told the rapper's lawyer, according to the wire service.
In addition to chewing gum, Jackson accused Brown of "making faces," the AP said.
All of this led to Brown being handcuffed, which led to Brown reportedly scuffling with a court officer, which led to the threat of jail. The judge ordered Brown to apologize, or else be held in contempt. Perhaps with Christmas looming, Brown caved, announcing to the court, per the AP, "I apologize for my actions."
Brown's next command court performance is scheduled for Jan. 23. That's when the court will revisit the Bloomie Nails incident, which saw Brown arrested in August 2004 for allegedly kicking and cell-phone clocking salon workers.
Brown was reportedly to have resolved the matter Friday by pleading guilty to a misdemeanor, but the prosecutor told Judge Jackson he didn't think the plea made her sound guilty enough.
At a September hearing, Brown wasn't in the mood to allow any guilt. "I'm innocent," she said.
