i'm just now catching up with violinist Anna Palm's solo work, after knowing her only as an old associate of the Kitchens of Distinction and Anne Clark. Mercy! she's like Ms. Clark, Laurie Anderson, Anna Homler, Danielle Dax, and Iva Bittova all in one beguiling, slightly pretentious-as-fuck package. there's a dash of Michael Nyman (or is it Wim Mertens?) in there, too. Arriving & Caught Up is just perfection, and the beat-enhanced Love Me is somehow even better. i think i have a new hero. does ILM share the love?
