classic, the flat earth remains one of my favorite records ever.

george clinton connection was all about Dolbys Cube 12" - 'may the cube be with you' .. very p-funked up grooves in a 80's pop manner of course.

not too bad - and available on the Aliens Ate my Buik cd i think.

oh, and as for the rest -

Golden Age of wireless - 80's pop classic
Flat Earth - timeless classic
Aliens Ate My Buik - off the wall madness, quirky pop but not quite all classic, other than the wonderful 'Budapest By Blimp' that is far to good to be forgotten.

"I Love You Goodbye" is well worth seeking out, a lovely track.

I have just one thing to say: Thomas Dolby's "The Golden Age Of Wireless" can not be overrated. He is my favorite 80s producer. I love love love the sophisticated yet understated use of warm analog/digital hybrid synthesizer on tracks like "Weightless" and "Airwaves". On top of that, he's a good songwriter. People interested in Thomas Dolby's work should definitely check out his production work on Prefab Sprout's masterpiece "Two Wheels Good" (called "Steve McQueen" outside of the US). Best pop album evah!

golden age of wireless and flat earth are fantastic. also seek ye out the live wireless video 9some dvds doing the rounds apparently) which has the fantastic 303'd version of europa and the pirate twins - channel 4 used to show it when they first started broadcasting.

i LOVE thomas dolby, and i really really really can't stand "she blinded me with science".... not sure if that is through annoying overexposure through the years, or what.

The Flat Earth predates the direction Talk Talk went with Spirit Of Eden and Laughing Stock. It's beautiful.

One of the first artists I went nuts for as a music starved 10/11 year old. I remember buying Golden Age Of Wireless after hearing "Europa and The Pirate Twins". A very talented musician.

chr1sb0y, the first issue of '...wireless' doesn't have she blinded me with science on it. it does have the fab wreck of the fairchild on it and a re-arranged tracklist to the added science one. and it has radio silence on it too. with added daniel miller.

flat earth has the gorgeous screen kiss which is worth admission proce alone.
