it's gonna be a piece on the cosmic jazz/kosmigroovz - Sun Ra, Alice Coltrane, etc. for one high-bro jazz mag. i just thought there might be some internet collection of these scans. scanning them for me would be nice, but i doubt anyone would do this.

i'm sure this has been covered here before BUT is including liner notes with mp3s ever going to be a strategy, or is it anywhere currently?

i really wish i'd scanned in my liners for discs i ripped then sold, esp. opal louis nations on all those gospel cds...

hmmm...did key records ever happen? thurston?...thurston!?

this is an "issue" even for a Rhapsody-streaming weakling like me. not only liner notes but NO CREDITS and I NEED TO KNOW who's playing what on whatever lostnforgotten Blue Note/Impulse LP I'm hearing.

"one high-bro jazz mag" hahahaha!

this "jazz douchebag" trope is way way under my skin. karmic payback for calling people db's all these years I guess.

well you can find liner notes ONLINE for the likes of George Winston NO PROBLEM

not sure why he would even need explication though

there is no justice on the internet

I bought an album from iTunes recently and it came with a "digital booklet." I don't know how many albums have this though.

I'd be happy to scan some liners if I have the albs...

I've been scanning as I sell (excpet for perfect-bound books like in the Ornette & VU boxes, etc). I scanned Giuffre's Free Fall just two days ago. I even got some OCR software to turn the scans into text files, though I haven't started that project yet.

hence my reluctance to digitize everything and reclaim space from this encroaching collection of jewel cases. god only knows when i'll need to know who played drums.

hahahaha, "avant douchebag" -- that's a good name for the so-called "Third Stream" stuff.
