saw em play live a couple times. maybe an ep or some singles?

of course their name came from a NY Post front page headline.

don't remember if they also had a song called "Headless Body Found In Topless Bar"

3TK4 EP:

Side One:
Hold Up
Tell Me Something Good (Stevie Wonder song)
5/4

Side Two:
Crime Drama
Hut/Bean Song
Hunger

band members:
Jesse Hultberg, Julie Hair,David Wojnarowicz, Brian Butterick, Doug Bressler

Point Blank records 1982

I particularly like "Hut" and the Bean Song. Fairly classic.

Don't know about any other stuff or reissues.

thanks!

From the account of Wojanrowicz's onstage tape-play given in the new PBS documentary Imagining America: Icons of 20th Century American Art, it seems that 3TK4 should be more canonical than they are. Or at least as ripe for reissue and rediscovery as Y-Pants or Grey. did they just have crappy timing, coming too late to catch the coattails of the NNY wave and DAM?

there was a great David Wojnarowicz retrospective at a Soho gallery a couple years ago and that EP must've been the background music.

don't think they played out all that much?

the coattails of the NNY wave and DAM* were pretty short IIRC

*Destroy All Monsters?

Mike Kelly was one of the talking heads in the PBS doc. That made me smile.

Tell Me Something Good (Stevie Wonder song)

stevie wrote it but never recorded it, as far as i know. he gave it to rufus, who turned it into a pop hit. did 3TK4 use a talkbox?
