Saw them in 98 or 99 in San Francisco and will not repeat that again. It was just one big fog machine with my roommate telling me that he was lip-syncing to the songs. I wouldn’t believe it and moved to the front to make sure it that is was true, sadly it was.

That should have made me hate them. I will always love the Sisters Of Mercy but only on stereo.

they were rockin' the massive amount of fog as far back as '85, but he was for sure singing live: you could tell by the way he did this weird beginning-of-word squeak esp. on "Marian"

it was always ALL about the fog. they lost it a bit around '85 when they decided to put patchouli in the smoke fluid. yuk!

Speaking of putting things in smoke, does anyone know what Primal Scream put in their smoke at the end of shows during the Screamadelica tour in America? I saw them on a Saturday night at the Hollywood Palladium and after the show it turned into a Rave. When the show ended they pumped this gas into the place that made me even higher then I already was. It was a blast but still a mystery to me to this day, I bet Les knows...
