Actually, I think they're kinda weak.

what, there's just the one with the different heads?

That is actually quite brilliant. I think Devo would approve the utilitarian "interchangability" of the different heads. (The downside is that you'd have to buy 5 of them in order to make a little Devo diorama.)

True. The band has long spun the (arguable?) fact that every band member wore the same shoe size. Seeing them recently, it's clear that they no longer share the same waistband size, however.

it'd be fun to throw a party where EVERYONE has to wear the official devo radiation suit and energy dome.

I've got one of each. I don't have a pomp, however. I did have a SpudRing (crica Oh No....trying finding one of those), but it ripped, sadly.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 30 December 2005 16:04 (twenty years ago)

not to be a pedant but were the radiation suits and energy domes ever actually worn by devo at the same time?

On the recent tours, yes. But not circa the release of their respective albums. Devo never mixed'n'matched their uniforms until their comeback tours.

I wish there were more bands today with bold
innovation, courageous creativity, radical
concepts, presence.

I especially like their 1st 2 albums, incorporating
the organic & inorganic in a warbled
and WICKED and WILD fashion.

("Are we not men..." and "Duty now for the future")

I whine and cry and long for the magnificent new-wave/punk-rock
genre of 1975-1985.
