Any info on band and anything else they put out sounding remotely like Put You In The Picture appreciated. Someone told me it was those
bay city sad punksters "Slick" who evolved into the Rich Kids. The Rich Kids version on their album doesn't really come close. The single had Put You In The Picture on one side with 2 tracks on the other side, Strange Demented and Free was one but i can't remember the other one.

Yeah, I have the single, it was on Zoom records, the lable managed by
Bruce Finlay who at the time owned a chain of shops in Scotland
called Bruces Records. Other artists on Zoom were Simple Minds and
The Valves (Edinburgh based punk/pub rock, kinda like Alex Harvey
fronting Doctor Feelgood and yes that is a recomendation)
Anyway PVC2 had been molded as a Bay City Rollers type band
called 'Slik' and had one chart topping single 'Forever and Ever'
this would be circa 1975.
Their failure to repeat the success of that single led to a (at
the time annonymous) the PVC2 punk recording - (the Slik / PVC2
singer had reputedly come into contact with Malcom McLaren, struck up
a freindship with Glen Matlock and had been considered for vocal
duties with the Sex Pistols).
After Matlock left the Pistols, he formed the fantastic Rich Kids
with the singer of PVC2 and if their Ghosts albums is a bit patchy
the singles were ace punkpop.
The rest of PVC2 formed a band called The Zones who put out a few
great singles on Zoom (my fave 'Sign of the Times') before being
signed to Arista (at the same time Simple Minds signed to Arista).
After that I kinda lost interest, the singer left the rich kids to
join Ultravox and then write the Live Aid single, the rest of the
Zones I think crop up in minor projects for some time, but I cant
recall any of them having much success.

Thanks Alex for the rundown. I've been after the single for a while
after snapping mine in two at some drunken party eons ago and could
never find out much about the band. Anyway, Thanks Mate.......Harry
