Anyone know if this (Snapper Classics version) is the mono or stereo version? Ta!

I think they are all the stereo version.

Yeah, I am pretty sure it is stereo too.

I love this record

I USED to have a Snapper Classics cd of SF Sorrow in mono. I "lost" it.
Pretty sure an old roommate is responsible. So, I don't know if this one is the mono one or not, but there is a Snapper mono cd reissue of SF Sorrow.

I highly reccomend getting "Parachute" by them as well. Though S.F. has some stronger songs, I think "Parachute" is the better album on the whole. I'm not a big fan of their other albums, but I really dig those two.

It's stereo. The mono reissues were only available for a little while - I think there may have only been a thousand.

Still great though.

Trip Maker, Wednesday, 2 May 2012 13:57 (thirteen years ago)

found in the 2nd hand racks of a local shop.

was released back in 1998 on the snapper label.

seems readily available via amazon.

don't think its that rare, but it is f*ckin' amazing.

mark e, Wednesday, 2 May 2012 14:34 (thirteen years ago)

It's actually more rare than you think!
All I ever see is the stereo one.

Trip Maker, Wednesday, 2 May 2012 15:14 (thirteen years ago)

really.
well i never.
it is very punchy and a lot more upfront than i expected.
app. the band prefer the mono version, so i figured if good enough for them, its good enough for me.

mark e, Wednesday, 2 May 2012 15:20 (thirteen years ago)

Definitely a lot of hard panning on the stereo version.

Only ever heard the Snapper mono (is there a Snapper stereo? Mine isn't labelled one way or the other), but yeah, it's a stunner.

Found some info on this. The mono mix Snapper has a catalog number of SMMCD 565 or SMMLP 565 for the mono vinyl version! The CD is from '98 and the record from '00.

four years pass...

this album is so great, pretty close to piper at the gates of dawn in terms of pure cracked psych
