TORY LEADER REVEALS MUSIC TASTESBy Matt Chorley and Jamie Lyons, PA Political StaffDavid Cameron revealed the contents of his new iPod as being "a lot of gloomy stuff" today. The Tory leader said the music player was a Christmas gift from his wife Samantha and he had been spending his time loading it with "a real mix" including Bob Dylan, reggae and Pulp.He also revealed on BBC Radio 1 he preferred Will Young to James Blunt, his favourite member of Girls Aloud is Cheryl Tweedy and he would choose Charles Kennedy as the other major party leader to have a civil partnership with -because he is "more fun" than Tony Blair.Describing his iPod mix, he told the Colin And Edith Show: "Because I'm 39, there's The Smiths, Radiohead, Pulp, Blur - all that quite gloomy music."I'm a big Bob Dylan fan - there's a lot of Bob Dylan but I'm not a Tom Waits fan. There's a lot of reggae on it. The Killers album I think is fantastic -that is my like favourite album at the moment."But he said he did not use music to prepare himself for Prime Minister's questions, preferring a cup of tea - with ten sugars. The drink was a tip from former Tory leader William Hague because the sugar "coats the larynx" and stops the voice drying up.Mr Cameron also told listeners he had given up smoking as a new year's resolution - after the stress of defeating David Davis for the Tory top job last year drove him to return to the habit."I've got a patch on and this time it's real. I gave up for seven months last year and during the leadership election the pressure got a bit too great and I'm afraid I went back on the fags."But I thought this time, that's it. I'm hoping to kick it."When quizzed on other vices Mr Cameron confessed to playing poker when he was at Oxford, adding: "I played at university, I lost money and I stopped. I've never played online."I have a face that you can just see exactly when I'm bluffing."Mr Cameron reluctantly revealed his favourite member of Girls Aloud as Cheryl Tweedy.Asked by presented Colin Murray which of the girls was most likely to "get a bit of the Cameron love" if he was single, the Tory leader initially said: "It is an impossible choice."He was shown a calendar of the group and pressed for an answer - advised to pick the one who looked most like his wife.He replied: "The one on the left", which was Cheryl.During the Tory leadership election his rival David Davis got into trouble when he was asked in a radio interview if he preferred blondes or brunettes. He chose blondes, but Mr Cameron studiously refused to answer. As Mr Cameron left the Radio 1 building after appearing on the Colin and Edith Show, he said the experience had been "very enjoyable".He added: "I hope going on the shows like this encourages young people to look again at politics and have a think about it, because it's important that people do exercise their right and vote and feel that it actually leads to something."That's the point of trying to encourage young people to get involved."Other, unanswered, questions submitted by listeners to the station's website included::: What's your favourite cheese?:: How many Mini Cheddars can you fit in your mouth?:: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
