Is anyone here listening to DLR?

I'm on the fence…he sure can talk, and he's showing more discipline than the stream of consciousness he's known for lately. He's fairly well informed on a variety of topics…but if I was him I'd be talking about Sago, surveilllance and Abramoff…but maybe someone thinks that's a bit too WABC, or something…

as it is, he's been weirdly focused on child-rearing…and today, he implied that meth was the reason that VH reunions were doomed…remarking that meth users become reclusive, which is a clear ref: to EVH.

anybody else?

I tried.

(Listening, that is).

DLR is a good talker. But he needs other on-air personalities to communicate with (to say the least). Having fans call in to ask him questions as if he were some sort of guru on a mountain makes for dull radio.

thanks for starting this thread. i'm on the fence about the show. It is entertaining and he has reined in his personality a bit. No way he would have been able to keep up his usual antics 4 hours a day 5 days a week.

but he has had lots of life experience that gives him a unique perspective on lots of topics. I 've heard people criticizing him for not being funny, but I don't think he's necessarily trying to be funny. His is not a comedy show per say.

I also caught that reference to EVH's meth use as the reason for the doomed DLR/Van Halen reunion. I always assumed it was because DLR is an egomaniac and EVH is an asshole.

And what's with that weird background music? I think it's suppossed to kick in whenever DLR lets out a "zinger" but they haven't quite worked about the kinks so it sounds aprehensive and awkward.

Anyway, I think I'll keep listenting because he is entertaining and there is lterally nothing else worth listening to in the morning.

It's not great radio. I hope he improves. And his cast of supporters has to get more interesting. I like Dave, and I like hearing him talk; I read his book and enjoyed it. What I've heard so far has been sort of boring, though. xpost

I like DLR - I've read his book. But his show is unlistenable - a trainwreck. He could have a shot and developing into something; perhaps a Sunday night curiosity. But the fact that Infinity Broadcasting is pinning their post Stern hopes on him is just impossible to understand. Also, the background music is annoying as hell.
