United Staes of America, for 99 cents. Okay, it wasn't a gas station (it was a small, old-fashioned department store in Frostburg, Maryland) but still hella cool.

Daniel Peterson (polkaholic), Monday, 9 January 2006 21:41 (twenty years ago)

For $4.99 Black Sabbath's We Sold Our Soul For Rock 'n' Roll accompanied me in a moving van from North Carolina to Tennessee. No matter how shitty the speakers, Sabbath always sounds good.

Edward III (edward iii), Monday, 9 January 2006 21:42 (twenty years ago)

yuengling participle (rotten03), Monday, 9 January 2006 21:52 (twenty years ago)

Cruisin' Classics, a bunch of surf music. Had a Shell logo on the cover iirc.

tremendoid (tremendoid), Monday, 9 January 2006 22:09 (twenty years ago)

I bought a double album of 60s girl-pop and schmaltz (sample tracks "Chapel of Love", "Tell Laura I Love Her" "Be My Baby"). It may well have been called Cruisin' Classics as well. It was utterly brilliant, very cheap, and I have no idea where it is now.
