I don't know much about this label, except that they seem to have released records by some decent bands: Piano Magic, silver Apples, etc...

Anyway, they have a double CD compilation out collecting together a load of stuff - is it any good or patchy?

More specificaly, Piano Magic - what are their best releases? Opinion seems very divided - some people claim Low birth Weight, som the single comp on Rocket girl, etc...

I love the new Mazarin album, it's not an every track is a classic, but most of them are. They're even better live, they were amazing at the Rocket Girl showcase at the ICA in London recently. In fact they're playing tonight upstairs at the Garage which is well worth checking out in my humbles. I'll be there anyway. Not that that means much...

The compilation is great! It's all the singles (which are great!) and some great! extra tracks and other stuff!

As compilations go, and considering most compilations are patchy at best, it really is quite excellent.

Seconded -- I'm listening to it myself right now at work! Great to finally have all those singles collected, and the slew of new tracks = equally fun. I've had the pleasure of meeting label boss Vinita Joshi twice, and she's a cool person. :-)
