this is basically for driving next to a beach at dusk, probably in a really nice car and wearing a suit (seersucker? probably a one-button coat, cut low--no tie; the shoes are the most expensive part of the outfit anyway) with your chick next to you (in a really nice dress, hair up & back) and everything's blowing in the wind

max, Monday, 3 September 2007 02:22 (eighteen years ago)

awesome bass line too

This is one of my favorite songs ever. I hope everyone has heard the tracks from Universe, specifically "Le Long De La Riviere Tendre" (which I first heard on Air's amazing Late Night Tales mix) and "La Ballade Du Georges".

Spencer Chow, Monday, 3 September 2007 10:01 (eighteen years ago)

"Le Long" is just a piano version of "Universe" right? It's lovely.

I'm excited about his new album in '08. I'm a big fan of the first two.

His new record is like on long "la ritournelle". I'm listening now and I feel like I'm in a Bond film. It's fucking great. =)

Curiously in the mood for some new Tellier.

Tony Allen is so tasteful and brilliant in this song.
I always get hyped when he starts opening the hi-hats and doing those jittering snare rolls at 3:40 when the strings start suspending before the brief vocal part enters. And then he moves into the ride cymbal. What a fucking groove. Just inject it directly into my veins.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Wednesday, 14 August 2024 22:32 (one year ago)

Whoa Tony Allen? Things I was shockingly old when I learned etc

brimstead, Wednesday, 14 August 2024 23:33 (one year ago)

And produced by Zdar of Cassius fame.

This is Dance Anthems, have some respect (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Wednesday, 14 August 2024 23:44 (one year ago)

Yeah Tony Allen! His drumming is almost too good for this.
