Slsk question: why don't queued songs always automatically initialize?

Sorry if it's been asked before, but I couldn't find it when I searched. I have maybe 20 things queued from the same user, and I have to keep clicking "retry" as soon as something completes, or else it just sits there. Has anyone had this experience? I downloaded the newest version and I have privileges.

Make sure you have the "auto-resume" box checked. It's at the bottom of the screen.

I do.

Well, then, I don't know. Try their user forum, maybe?

more importantly, why aren't people from harvard smart enough to log out when asking questions about stealing music?

I think there's going to have to be Google amnesty legislation before this generation reach Supreme Court age.

You, or the other guy, are probably behind a firewall. I'm guessing that you're using the uni computers, and you aren't able to change any network settings unless you have a very good friend in the IT department... You'll just have to live with it, in the case.

If I've understood the question correctly, I'm not sure it's the firewall issue, because in that case usually no files download at all. But sometimes you queue up an album and one song downloads and then none of the others do, unless you retry them, and then you have to retry each song in turn as each one finishes, or they won't download. It's odd, and doesn't happen that often, but such are the perils of the mp3 pirate, I suppose.

i considered it as one of soulseek's many, many quirks.

Yeah, its a soulseek quirk. If someone goes offline and then comes back online you could be showing as remotely queued when you're not.

also, you can get disconnected from the server yet still be downloading / uploading.
