Is "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" the most perfectest song EVER?

I mean, is there anything wrong with it? I've always liked it but lately I've been listening to it and I am convinced it is absolutely perfect in every way. Does any other song even come close to "I Heard It Through the Grapevine"'s PERFECTION?

Yeah, I meant to say of course the Marvin Gaye version. I like the Gladys Knight & the Pips version too, but it couldn't come close to Marvin Gaye's version.

i like the way the strings come in at the beginning, they sound so queasy and sneering. actually the whole beginning of the song is pretty amazing, very ominous and low. i hate to agree with dave marsh on anything but this isn't such a bad candidate for best record ever!

the only thing I really like about the Gaye version is the little drum fill before the verse that PWEI sampled for either "Can U Dig It" or "Def Con One," can't remember which. The Slits version is also my fav.

The Smokey Robinson version has a slighty more upbeat groove. Not as slinky, but a little more danceable. I kiss it.

I've been studying a lot of songs lately, as I have been trying to write some of my own. So far I have found that the Underdogs' "Love's Gone Bad" is the most perfect for me. Two and 1/2 minutes of brooding intro, rousing chorus, stop on a seething dime bridge, and catharsis seeking chorus/outro. Then usually play it again.
