I remember hearing a track from "In The Garden" that sounded like top- drawer indiepop. The rest was rubbidge. The first album is top, esp. "Love Is A Stranger".

Annie Lennox solo is dreck of the very worst kind.

i have very fond memories of them, because mum used to bash out that that song about 'angel in my heart' on our battered tape player in the bathroom. agree with jim, 'love is a stranger' is excellent. i also have a soft spot for 'here comes the rain again', those melodramatic violins get me every time.

annie lennox is shit solo, but even worse was that eurythmics reunion not all that long ago. much, much worse than new order's reunion.

"I Need You" is scary. "Shame" and "You Have Place a Chill on My Heart" are sad sad sad. I love this record. I don't know if I'd call it post modern, it seems to wear its heart on its sleeve.

I didn't really get them till this one.

Savage is definitely quite an interesting record. I adored "Shame" for a long time when I was younger. It's been a long time since I've heard the album though, too long to accurately say what I'd think of it now.

"Love is a Stranger" is one of my favorite songs from the 80s, and "Jennifer" is pretty good too, but they also have some horrible songs (everything after 83). Be careful. The Tourists are good too.

Please destroy "I Need A Man". Otherwise, I really like "Beethoven". Unfortunately, in order to get the latter on a 12" B-side, I had to get the former.

Touch is amazing--I don't think there's a bad cut on it. It definitely marked the peak of Stewart's rhythmic mastery. The first two are also quite good in their own right.

Beware, beware anything after those two, though.

Er, those three. Yeh.
