i just got it in the mail. i like it A LOT more than the first one. although no immediate maps and I'll likely forget about it by the time it's properly released...but still, pleasantly surprising

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Friday, 3 February 2006 20:19 (nineteen years ago)

so? let us decide for that maybe we will think its good.
any info how / where to get it?

so?, Saturday, 4 February 2006 19:05 (nineteen years ago)

It's watermarked. Doubt it'll be leaking before the release date, even though watermarks are pretty easy to destroy.

Reggie, Saturday, 4 February 2006 23:37 (nineteen years ago)

The files have leakes so where are they, nice to hear everyone talking about it but really... come on and give up the files already. Please?

buddah, Monday, 6 February 2006 20:05 (nineteen years ago)

wow, Yeah Yeah Yeah fans are even more annoying than Yeah Yeah Yeahs themselves...

snowballing (snowballing), Monday, 6 February 2006 20:35 (nineteen years ago)

SFJ seems to like it... he writes about some of the songs in the latest New Yorker.

Jorge, Monday, 6 February 2006 20:50 (nineteen years ago)

Hi, if anybody finds a link could you please email me at joshuathomascse@yahoo.com or AIM me at canaanshead@mac.com. It's very appreciated :)

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 02:29 (nineteen years ago)

if all you people really have it prove it.
do a YSI of the track "cheated hearts"

sampletrack, Tuesday, 7 February 2006 03:52 (nineteen years ago)

You're an idiot. Nobody here is going to chance leaking a watermarked promo, even if they're convinced they've destroyed the watermark. Go the fuck away.

Reggie, Tuesday, 7 February 2006 05:43 (nineteen years ago)

you can listen to their new single on their website

shut up, Tuesday, 7 February 2006 15:05 (nineteen years ago)

i already did and have the new single. cheated hearts is where its at though.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 18:53 (nineteen years ago)

wow, that song is really good!
it sounds like a good tegan & sara.

Christopher Costello (CGC), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 19:47 (nineteen years ago)

Strummy acoustic chords. "When the Levee Breaks" beat. Double-tracked vocals. Gets better at the bridge, with the e-bowed guitar sound. If you told me this was a Brian Jonestown Massacre cover, I'd believe you.

bendy (bendy), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 20:15 (nineteen years ago)

I like the remix more... Reminds me of late '80s alt rock in a boring way.

js (honestengine), Tuesday, 7 February 2006 21:05 (nineteen years ago)

the song on their site sounds like "no new tale to tell" by love and rockets!

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 01:08 (nineteen years ago)

js otm, I actually liked the original more, until I heard the "jane says" echo in there and subsequently measured "gold lion" against said track. After not hearing Jane's Addiction for years, the track (suprisingly) still sounded great, but basically killed the prior prowess of the following "gold lion".

mox twelve (Mox twleve), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 01:23 (nineteen years ago)

and xpost yeahh, it also *does* sound like love and rockets.

mox twelve (Mox twleve), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 01:24 (nineteen years ago)

for some reason i can hear kur cobain singing this.

is this crazy?

J$Q, Wednesday, 8 February 2006 04:35 (nineteen years ago)

i am most bummed about the annoying use of "something like a phenomenon" mantra in their song phenonmena or something titled like that. they are original, they shouldn't have to resort to such bleacher chants..

also, why the blatant ape of "hush little baby don't say a word..." tune in "dudley"?
so random and ineffective

the rest of the album is great though

personally, Wednesday, 8 February 2006 05:10 (nineteen years ago)

Wow, that one YSI expired fast.

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 06:58 (nineteen years ago)

i think that one dude probably downloaded it 10 times in quick succession. if only he had 20 ears.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 07:11 (nineteen years ago)

That subject title is missing a crucial letterr

Dom iNut (donut), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 10:00 (nineteen years ago)

i keep trying to tell you guys to blot out the 'http' in yousendit links.

the site tracks where the traffic comes from and if they see the traffic is heavily from one place they assume it's been posted somewhere and block the link.

Hairy Asshurt (Toaster), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 12:03 (nineteen years ago)

someone do a new YSI.
what was it off anyway?

newone, Wednesday, 8 February 2006 14:01 (nineteen years ago)

you get it back up on YSI so i can download it and i will invite you to three very nice torrent sites that you aren't part of. just post the YSI link and include your e-mail address too so i can invite you.

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Friday, 10 February 2006 00:14 (nineteen years ago)

False Pavement alarm. Really, just another oblique 2112 reference.

Full Album Show Your Bones Leak Here

buddah, Monday, 27 February 2006 19:36 (nineteen years ago)

Eh, it's okay. There's certainly nothing close to "Maps" on it, much less "Our Time" or "Mystery Girl," but it's more consistent than the other two records, so that counts for something. I still can't get over the feeling that they are a good band who just happen to have a lousy singer dragging them down into mediocrity for the most part.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 27 February 2006 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

"Honeybear" should spawn a few good remixes, though.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 27 February 2006 20:02 (nineteen years ago)

The first half of the album sounds pretty great on the first listen.

Harpal (harpal), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 01:44 (nineteen years ago)

phenomenon is dumb

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 02:06 (nineteen years ago)

Nick posted this on the band's messageboard:

the music that got leaked is not the full version and not the album version.

i don't mind you posting it on here - but i think people should be aware of this fact. i would rather you trade live music instead of our new music to be honest.

thanks for listening.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 02:31 (nineteen years ago)

What's so odd about that?

telephone thing, Tuesday, 28 February 2006 06:40 (nineteen years ago)

Hey I'm from Dublin, Irealnd. Somebody played Cheated Hearts in a bar here last night. People went ballistic. It rocked. Like ten people went up to the dj after asking was it new YYY's stuff. That's why I want this album so bad. Gotta hear that song again. All the links seem to be broken though.

LD, Thursday, 9 March 2006 14:30 (nineteen years ago)

its ok
karen o is still not that great as a singer
but shes at least less self consciously weird than before
but this album is just a bit limp and safe and meek and well, not that exciting

ppp, Wednesday, 22 March 2006 10:39 (nineteen years ago)

i dig it.

but then i like great sounding, happy tunes.

that (micarl), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 11:50 (nineteen years ago)

karen o is still not that great as a singer

Unless that's not her on Maps, I'd say she's a great singer (or vocalist, or whatever).

but shes at least less self consciously weird than before
but this album is just a bit limp and safe and meek and well, not that exciting

Yeah, maybe this isn't a coincidence (I haven't heard the new album yet).

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 13:45 (nineteen years ago)

first 1/2 is alright...but yeah, kinda 'meh' overall.
nothing rips like 'y-control', nothing so moving as 'maps', just overall much more quiet than i expected...
but, hey...oh well, right?
