hmmmm. looking through my trapez pile there aren't as many great 12"s as i thought. there are a few limited 12" series that are great but i think that series is totally pointless so won't mention them (though the latest one by shane berry is pretty good in a freak everyone out on the dancefloor kind of way).

Akufen - Psychometry Vol. 1
Akufen - Psychometry Vol. 2
Akufen - Psychometry Vol. 3
Jeremy P. Caulfield - The Cities
Gabriel Ananda - Schaukeldrehen
G.A. - Highway To Heaven
Alex Under - Las Bicicletas Son Para El Verano
Nôze - Kitchen

yeah, I really love dispositivos de mi granja as well, but I think my all-time alex under favourite is Rojo Par Y Pasa - is that on Trapez?

Other good stuff: Ozy "imaginary rockstar syndrome", the psychometry volumes, SCSI-9's "cologne" from the silkcome EP (but I find the other tracks kind of annoying with the interspersed hiphop samples - does anyone else?).

xpost - what series are you talking about, stirmonster?

jackl (jackl), Saturday, 4 February 2006 16:23 (nineteen years ago)

the series of limited 12"s trapez put out. they started off as a black label with a sticker and now have a black label with a little block of info on them. they were totally infuriating to use as a dj, as identifying them in a dark nightclub was nigh on impossible. it's slightly easier now but as they seem as easy to get as the proper trapez releases, i don't know why they felt the need to differentiate them. it's not as if they have a radically different sonic aesthetic or anything.

trapez is a gateway drug

I like the Ltd series though I thought stirmonster meant it's pointless in that alot of them are great but kind of unplayable.

Hansen and DJ Daniel are actually brilliant producers, despite the awful name. Alot of those dudes on 3rd Floor and Mermaids in Space are doing really interesting stuff at the moment I think.
