dc=shorthand for 1. where i live 2. a hegemonic fetishization of deep house, vocal garage, rare groove, downtempo.
― Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Sunday, 5 February 2006 20:57 (nineteen years ago)
It may well be overrated right now, and more light, slightly nostalgic relief in a set than a psychedelic journey or anything, but it's still a nice track.
― fandango (fandango), Sunday, 5 February 2006 20:59 (nineteen years ago)
psychedelic/prog/electro/disco ... *sigh* ... they're so dreamy.

Unidisc - Canadian, I think. They released a bunch of electro/italo records, and they were the Canadian press for Emergency Records (NY).
TSR - Italo label. All the way.

this one is odd as it's credited as 'tomba special space -tiefscwarzturntablerockeredit' and is basically an edit of the bass groove of the track with all the melody taken out. the other remix is by freeform reform and has trancetastic female vocals which could probably take the track into the mainstream. here's an extract

it's ok if you want to hear it without that melody.
the freeform reform mix is of course actually by freeform five.
for me the m.a.n.d.y remix kind of misses the point and i so wish the rumoured isolee remix had transpired.
― stirmonster (stirmonster), Sunday, 19 March 2006 06:41 (nineteen years ago)
I think the Tiefschwarz one is pretty good, it's basically a slightly tougher update, though in a way I always like the way "I Feel Space" sounds distinct from electrohouse and yet still fits in, it makes playing it feel like a kind of grand event in the set.
I know Lazarus played the Tiefschwarz one when he played for us and it went down well, lots of people wondering whose it was etc.

These remixes are like polar opposites that work on either side of the original. The Tief mix is raw and stripped down, the Freeform5 mix is even more epic than the original.
It doesn't surprise me that boring trainspotter types wouldn't like the added vocal though. Hooks? Melody? SHIT...run for the hills! Where there are no girls...

i love this song but last week the DJ on before me finished his set with this track and it completely cleared the floor.

amazing track but i don't really like....dancing to it.
― jabba hands, Thursday, 7 February 2008 23:58 (seventeen years ago)
it always sticks out like a bit of a sore thumb in a set i think. kind of stops ppl in their tracks.
― jabba hands, Thursday, 7 February 2008 23:59 (seventeen years ago)
Unless you’re playing a strictly disco set this track only works if you’re setting it to a much heavier 4/4 909 kick. If you do, it kills on the dance floor (or at least it did in ’05).
― Mr. Goodman, Friday, 8 February 2008 04:19 (seventeen years ago)
it's really dependent on context; i think it works great on "body language 1" but yeah i haven't heard it mixed well elsewhere
― winston, Saturday, 9 February 2008 01:14 (seventeen years ago)
this song is the shit
― deej, Saturday, 9 February 2008 01:23 (seventeen years ago)
Reminds me of the original Doctor Who theme, John Carpenter, Vangelis, Moroder...awesome.
― Bodrick III, Saturday, 9 February 2008 01:56 (seventeen years ago)
never liked this song. it cant touch carpenter, moroder, or vangelis, that is craziness.

Course I'm not saying that it's as good as the best work of those artists. But it's a neat summation of the ideas and feel of some of those tracks.
