Amp Camp is an offshoot of Neighborhoodies, a company you may be familiar with from their omnipresent banner and sidebar ads on the 'fork. You can e-mail Ryan Schreiber for all of the juicy details or, you know, do the math.

Stylus started using Insound too, and PF went all 50 Cent and cast Insound out of G-Unit.

Aw damn it, I put our record on consignment at Insound specifically with the future 'fork review in mind.

Oh well, off to Amp Camp, I guess.

i used insound once and it took them a month and a half to get a cd that wasn't by any means rare. fuck 'em.

Hey all. My name is Matt Wishnow and I run Insound. Pitchfork and Insound are still buddies. It's sad that new reviews aren't linking to us but I can say with confidence that the switch has nothing to do with Insound or Pitchfork's feelings about Insound. We've been growing organically for 7 years and the last two years we almost doubled our sales and really made the website friendlier (I think). So we'll be fine and continue to grow. In fact, I hope and expect to be again working with Pitchfork sooner rather than later. We reach so many more people and carry so many more CDs, LPs, 7"s, zines, limited edition stuff than our competitors, etc. that I feel like we are in a pretty good place. We think, work, etc. like music fans/geeks first and foremost and that has served us well. If anybody wants to know more about Insound ever or if you have a question or concern, don't hesitate to email me.

Matt

maybe insound doesnt carry 98,000 shitty, identical dipset & clipse mixtapes??

strange that they would just suddenly stop linking to you guys if there is "no hard feelings" unless of course pfork owns part of amp camp, which at the moment has a rather crap selection... not to sound all doom and gloom Matt but I imagine losing those links would severely cut back on business, considering what a powerhouse Pfork is, after all it was you and pfork together that broke the wonderfully average clap your hands say yeah

you should notice every insound buy it came with a unique pitchfork referrer number, they probably kicked back 5%-10% of each sale. it's a either a better deal with this Amp Camp thing, or a partnership with nhoodies.

just watch them drop emusic for URGE

wow, if i ever see a Harv3ll review link to a P3rp3tua writeup on URGE, my life will be complete.

Hahaha yes this is why websites have unique referrer numbers.

ten years pass...

Is Insound.com going belly up? I haven't been on their site for a long time, but got an email for a 55% off all vinyl this weekend and decided to check it out. They don't have hardly any inventory like they used to. Anyone know what's up with them?
