The Alarm Heading for Number 1??????

A friend of mine with slightly dubious taste in music just mailed me telling me that the Alarm's new single is heading for number 1 this Sunday - Can this be true, a quick search on the net seemed to reveal that it's doing well, but I didn't even know they still existed or had that kind of fanbase?

I went to their website, listened to the tune, and I can only assume that they're not selling any because of radioplay....

Are they going to have to battle it out with Leo Sayer"

They had that reunion song a few years back, 45 RMP which is far better than anything they recorded the first time around. I could never quite understand what they were fighting for.

But whatever it was, it worked with the gorgeous bohemian girls in my high school...they all loved The Alarm.

To be fair, the actual tune and production is pretty good, if it wasn't for the absolutely appalling lyrics it might be OK.
The Alarm were one of my 1st musical loves, which I quickly grew out of but I still have very happy memories of going to see them and having my 1st hangover aged 14

The Alarm vs Leo Sayer, for number one.

And they say the charts aren't relevant anymore...

Is it another Poppyfields sham track?
