270 pictures of bands... I been filling this in for the last day and so far i have 204 correct - the rest are driving me crazy..

Jack Battery-Pack (Jack Battery-Pack), Sunday, 12 February 2006 10:18 (nineteen years ago)

Which ones haven't you got? I think I recognise most of them (it's quite UK-centric though, so if you aren't in the UK/familiar with our boy/girl bands then that may confuse you)

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 12 February 2006 11:32 (nineteen years ago)

I have no idea who the hell 47, 49, 162, 178, 172 are? Any ideas?

Jack Battery-Pack (Jack Battery-Pack), Sunday, 12 February 2006 14:57 (nineteen years ago)

tenacious D, ELO, the moody blues & dunno

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 12 February 2006 15:12 (nineteen years ago)

I've got 230, but I don't dare tell you which ones I don't have (because then you'd find out I recognized Dollar and Extreme).

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 12 February 2006 17:04 (nineteen years ago)

i recognised Dollar but not extreme...

Jack Battery-Pack (Jack Battery-Pack), Sunday, 12 February 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, that's The Moody Blues! Thx, 231. :-)

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 12 February 2006 17:56 (nineteen years ago)

i'm now up to 214... I'm missing mainly the boy bands and hair metal bands..

It is pretty UK centric, and the inclusion of quite a few 80s/90s indie bands pretty much dates the compiler of the quiz.

I never realised how much Miles Hunt looks like Ned Raggett..

pics 88 and 97 are still killing me..

Jack Battery-Pack (Jack Battery-Pack), Sunday, 12 February 2006 19:06 (nineteen years ago)

88 = The Eagles!

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Sunday, 12 February 2006 19:42 (nineteen years ago)

I've only gotten 87 of them. I doubt I'm going to get any more.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Sunday, 12 February 2006 19:43 (nineteen years ago)

97 = deacon blue

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 12 February 2006 19:51 (nineteen years ago)

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 12 February 2006 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

169 = pasadenas

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 12 February 2006 20:00 (nineteen years ago)

Thanks, you've saved my from lying awake trying to remember this one. (the sad part is: I'm not even exaggerating)

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 12 February 2006 20:03 (nineteen years ago)

lol...

thanks for Deacon Blue... now up to 229..

Jack Battery-Pack (Jack Battery-Pack), Sunday, 12 February 2006 20:08 (nineteen years ago)

Jack Battery-Pack (Jack Battery-Pack), Sunday, 12 February 2006 20:20 (nineteen years ago)

I saw this quiz a few months ago. After spending a few hours on it I got 269 out of 270. The only one I couldn't get was number 245, so if anyone knows who those fuckers are please let me know so I can put this thing to sleep once and for all

nate woolls (napawo), Monday, 13 February 2006 13:03 (nineteen years ago)

I'm afraid I know this one.

245 is Bad Company

StanM (StanM), Monday, 13 February 2006 16:53 (nineteen years ago)

(but only because I recognised Paul Rodgers after seeing a Queen promo picture, honest!)

StanM (StanM), Monday, 13 February 2006 16:55 (nineteen years ago)

Before you put it to sleep, would you be so kind to mail me your result?

I'm dying to know the ones I'm still missing, but I won't spoil the fun for the others here...

StanM (StanM), Monday, 13 February 2006 17:02 (nineteen years ago)

ok, I'll have a look in my docs to see if I can find it, if I can I'll mail it to you

nate woolls (napawo), Monday, 13 February 2006 17:40 (nineteen years ago)

i'd like to see it too if you can find it...

Jack Battery-Pack (Jack Battery-Pack), Monday, 13 February 2006 18:56 (nineteen years ago)

That wasn't what I meant.

kiki rivers (kiki), Monday, 27 March 2006 19:49 (nineteen years ago)

thanxs StanM, YOu saved my time, cause in last week I was just browsing around internet and looking for bands.
I got 120, and I think it is quite good for somebody who is not English (but Slovak)...so I dont know all the one hit wonders which appear on English or American music scene :)

barbi, Sunday, 2 April 2006 20:49 (nineteen years ago)

two weeks pass...
I got 215 so far..who has them all !

pam, Tuesday, 30 May 2006 12:18 (nineteen years ago)

It's O Town and Steve Harley and (not &) Cockney Rebel.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 30 May 2006 12:30 (nineteen years ago)

You could always just make up your own quiz.

Revive, since the original link isn't working anymore and the (approximately) 30th person has mailed me about this thread. (Ask.com doesn't have that butler anymore, do they? "who do I mail about that band picture quiz?" "StanM" - or is it because I posted all the answers upthread?)

Noel Emits, Sunday, 8 January 2017 19:34 (nine years ago)

Well, if the photographer can't remember them, what hope do we have?

Roaring Boys? Spelled Like This? Advertising?

Mark G, Monday, 9 January 2017 18:34 (nine years ago)

The photographer might never have really known or cared what the band was called. A couple of them do look sort of familiar.

Noel Emits, Monday, 9 January 2017 20:11 (nine years ago)

Thomas Dolby, Quentin Tararntino, Jake Gyllenhall, and Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

how's life, Monday, 9 January 2017 20:15 (nine years ago)

Xpost I know, was just bumping thread by saying something relevant.

Mark G, Monday, 9 January 2017 22:20 (nine years ago)

Advertising looked like this

soref, Monday, 9 January 2017 22:25 (nine years ago)

Yeah, Tot Taylor and co.

Mark G, Monday, 9 January 2017 22:27 (nine years ago)

All bumps welcome, as the guys in the band may have said at some point during the shoot.

Best guess for this image: human behavior

They weren't called Human Behavior, by any chance?

heaven parker (anagram), Tuesday, 10 January 2017 09:56 (nine years ago)

seems strange that the photographer can't name a geography where he might have shot it.

Poliopolice, Wednesday, 11 January 2017 20:10 (nine years ago)

South east London.
