I got my flyer today. Oh, which premiums to choose.

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Monday, 13 February 2006 21:35 (nineteen years ago)

swag

midi sanskrit (sanskrit), Tuesday, 14 February 2006 01:51 (nineteen years ago)

I like the oldskool propagandistic t-shirts, always.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 14 February 2006 14:43 (nineteen years ago)

5 days to go, can you stand it? My pledge is in da mail.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 22 February 2006 21:08 (nineteen years ago)

I was going to mail mine in, but I think I'll make it via the interweb.

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Wednesday, 22 February 2006 21:15 (nineteen years ago)

I did mine, picking out premiums was hard!

Thomas Tallis (Tommy), Wednesday, 22 February 2006 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

I am so excited that Listener Desmond is one of the hosts.

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Wednesday, 22 February 2006 23:09 (nineteen years ago)

hahaha... one of the more tasteful DJs. The squirt.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 23 February 2006 14:58 (nineteen years ago)

it's marathon time!!

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Monday, 27 February 2006 16:43 (nineteen years ago)

It must be; they have Jack Elam on the homepage.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 27 February 2006 17:35 (nineteen years ago)

ill be working the phones next week when kenny g and professor dum-dum meet again. i called in to pledge durring that lunacy last year and boy did i feel badly for the woman who could barely hear a word i said. now im that person.

bb (bbrz), Monday, 27 February 2006 18:46 (nineteen years ago)

my tip: cover your other ear with your hand when answering the phones. i have to do that a lot.

i'm answering the phones for kenny g this week.

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Monday, 27 February 2006 18:53 (nineteen years ago)

I factor those things in when I sign up. Hand over the ear isn't enough if you're sitting next to Scharpling.

I may see you at the end of yr shift, rosemary.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 27 February 2006 18:55 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, inntially i was thinking iwas doing the 6-8 this wed...then i did the math,

bb (bbrz), Monday, 27 February 2006 19:31 (nineteen years ago)

If you had done this Weds, we could have had a mininoize FAP.

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Monday, 27 February 2006 19:39 (nineteen years ago)

another day, another dream

bb (bbrz), Monday, 27 February 2006 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

I like seeing Andy Breckman humbled annually.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 27 February 2006 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

ill be glad to be watching that go down.

bb (bbrz), Monday, 27 February 2006 20:12 (nineteen years ago)

I just realized that I accidentally signed up to be one of the phone people during the Yo La Tengo thing. That should be busy.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 27 February 2006 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

he kinda owes me for the pain he caused with the show just before xmas when he had people reading xmas letters. i had just had surgery and laughing really hurt. andy, that is.

bb (bbrz), Monday, 27 February 2006 20:14 (nineteen years ago)

I really hope the Yo La callers come up with some new requests, not the same ol' VU / Kinks perennials.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 27 February 2006 20:44 (nineteen years ago)

I keep forgetting to watch the "WFMU Gone Wild" DVD... is it good?

pixel farmer (Rock Hardy), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 03:11 (nineteen years ago)

I still haven't watched the whole thing, but of course, esp to see everybody (incl Glen Jones) in 1990.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 15:36 (nineteen years ago)

I am gonna try really hard to forget the sight of Kenny G in frock and falsies.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 2 March 2006 14:49 (nineteen years ago)

i would give wfmu all my money (if i had any)

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 2 March 2006 14:51 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, morbs...nice singing....the comedy was high last night...i now fear my shift...the 7 second wheel of torture is gonna be something...and that gets follwed up with kenny and the professor!!

this is one of those things that makes me love life.

bb (bbrz), Thursday, 2 March 2006 15:38 (nineteen years ago)

What? Morbius sang?

Redd Scharlach (Ken L), Thursday, 2 March 2006 15:48 (nineteen years ago)

I did not; I firmly rejected Kenny and Mark Allen's entreaties.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:09 (nineteen years ago)

i was just assumin'

bb (bbrz), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:41 (nineteen years ago)

excuse me, bb where's the love FOR ME?????

i was going to ask kenny if i could try on his coat but i got shy

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:35 (nineteen years ago)

I didn't hear any of it til I got there at 5:45, rmg -- how much incantation did you do?

It's very difficult to transcribe the volume of web pledges while Andy Breckman is being "soaked."

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:55 (nineteen years ago)

I sang my fair share.

I forgot to give a pledge during soak Andy.

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:04 (nineteen years ago)

Thank you for pledging to my show RMG, I didnt see you Wednesday sing because I was upstairs all day trying to not get a migrane from Kenny like I did last year during his marathon show.

Brian Turner (btwfmu), Friday, 3 March 2006 05:58 (nineteen years ago)

I think I spoke to an ilxor called during my phone shift on Doug's show this morning. Cosmic!

mcd (mcd), Friday, 3 March 2006 19:03 (nineteen years ago)

surrey zoe...

bb (bbrz), Friday, 3 March 2006 19:05 (nineteen years ago)

I hope the Dirty Duck will be crapping all over the finale show again.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 3 March 2006 21:23 (nineteen years ago)

he's still alive??

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Saturday, 4 March 2006 02:47 (nineteen years ago)

I believe I saw him drunkenly waddling out of the lake in Prospect Park, cursing his bill off.

One marathon highlight last Friday night: Rex trying to politely answer Pseu Braun's question, "What do you think of Joni Mitchell?"

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 17:39 (nineteen years ago)

Yo La Tengo on-air request thing is tonight:

http://www.wfmu.org/upcoming#4799

What will the new selections be? Besides "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp."

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 20:59 (nineteen years ago)

Yo La Tengo playing right now, anyone listening/watching the webcam/pledging for a song?

mcd (mcd), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 02:05 (nineteen years ago)

listening, yes

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 02:06 (nineteen years ago)

Me too, but I just ran out of beer.

mcd (mcd), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 02:13 (nineteen years ago)

:(

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 02:40 (nineteen years ago)

I fell asleep after an hour or so, but my God, does the same person request "The Underassistant West Coast Promotion Man" every year? And did they do Three 6 Mafia?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 14:52 (nineteen years ago)

I requested "F.M." but I don't think they ever got around to playing it. Not sure, though, I didn't hear the last 40 minutes or so.

Scott CE (Scott CE), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 16:10 (nineteen years ago)

I'm glad DJ Icepack/Desmond played the Jam and not Style Council.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 11 March 2006 18:29 (nineteen years ago)

It was very cool pledging during Kevin Nutt's gospel show and having my name screamed out, Baptist call-and-response style, by a ton of in-studio guests

Brakhage (brakhage), Sunday, 12 March 2006 00:42 (nineteen years ago)

Exciting finale as always; good to see Tom S. (nice John Sterling update on "Paradise by the Dashboard Light") sharing the Force of Nature slot with the formidable Pseu; a sublime H&F debut by Ms. Trouble; and Monica may have turned "Rolling Stone" into one of my top 3 Nashville tunes.

And I got a brief massage from Mark Allen, so I feel I'm one premium ahead.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 13 March 2006 18:23 (nineteen years ago)

i still feel kinda badly for shaving andy and ken's heads...but hey..it grows back...

bb (bbrz), Monday, 13 March 2006 19:53 (nineteen years ago)

Ken still has hair! I missed the second 7SD except for Ken's drunken signoff.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 13 March 2006 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

it was comedy...yes hair...i just had to shave wfmu into the backs...i went light.

bb (bbrz), Monday, 13 March 2006 20:22 (nineteen years ago)

And did they do Three 6 Mafia?

Not a single request for "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp"! That's kind of a tragedy, I guess. But I don't know if they would have played it. It seems like they just go through the stuff and only really go for the stuff they know and like, and I'm guessing that's not really their style.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 13 March 2006 21:32 (nineteen years ago)

They usually fit anything they can do even half-assedly into a medley. Nice takin' yer pledge, MP!

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 13 March 2006 21:34 (nineteen years ago)

"does the same person request "The Underassistant West Coast Promotion Man" every year?"

For a few years back in the late 90's, someone would call every marathon and request that Yo La Tengo play "Dizz Nee Land" by Dada. That one mystified me. It's such a strange choice I have to assume it was the same pledger each time.

James, Monday, 13 March 2006 21:37 (nineteen years ago)

They KO'd me one year when they fulfilled my request for "Baseball Altamont," a 7" by an '80s Jersey (?) garage band, The Nightmares. (Ira said Bruce the Ringer knew it.)
