And, surprisingly, it's really really good. Upbeat, with the minimal clanking piano style that suits him so well. After the Osirus album debacle, this feels like a nice way for him to go out. Tracklist:

1. Lift ya skirt (ft. Missy Elliot)
2. Pop shots (ft. Lil' Frame of M.O.P)
3. Operator (ft. The Clipse & Pharrell)
4. Back in the air (ft. Ghostface Killah)
5. Work for me (ft. Young Chris)
6. ODB, don't go breaking my heart (ft. Macy Gray)
7. Stomp (ft. RZA)
8. How ya feelin'
9. Intoxicated (ft. Raekwon, Method Man, Macy Gray)
10. Dirty & Grimey (ft. N.O.R.E)
11. Danger zone (ft. Joe Budden)
12. Skrilla (ft. RZA)

How ya feelin, Back in the air, Operator are classics.

Interesting... I have versions of "Lift Ya Skirt" and "Pop Shots" without Missy & Fame, and there was a song on his first album called "The Stomp". Is this "Stomp" a recycle?

EngleDinckFanClubPrez, Tuesday, 14 February 2006 22:31 (nineteen years ago)

Nah, different song. But "Operator" is basically exactally the same version as the one off "Nigga Please".

I had high hopes for this album, and if it had the Wu Tanbg collaboration that was supposed to be on it, or "coochie (feat Ludacris" (which was a single from the album !!!) it would definitely be better.

As it is, "Intoxicated" is CLASSIC (Meth is great on it), "Back in the Air" and "Skrilla" are great. "Don't go Breaking my Heart" is a hilarious cover of the old Elton John tune. The "Stomp" beat has a really annoying typewriter sound through it, unfortunately.

"Pop Shots", "Lift Ya Skirt" and "Operator" are decent too, but tracks 5,7,8,10,11 and 13 ("Don't Hurt Me Dirty", dont know why it isnt in that guys tracklist) are basically garbage.

"operator" wasn't on nigga please!

wu-tang clan analogue (haitch), Wednesday, 15 February 2006 00:23 (nineteen years ago)

True, but it was released several years ago. I think it was made during the "Nigga Please" sessions, cause I've had a copy of that song for years. I wish I could remember where the hell I got it from.

I remember the same thing happened with a few tracks off the first Masta Killa CD (which is fuckin awesome, by the way). They came out (underground or otherwise) years before the album did. Which is ironic, cause the beats sounded totally old school, so they may well have been made in the mid 90's since the album took so damn long to release.

Anyone know what "Operator" was released on ? Help me out here

Thanks for the heads up, listening now.

"Lift ya skirt" is the joint. Is it the same as the old version but with Missy on teh hook ?? There's another version of that with a completely different beat with Fat Joe and Curtains on it which sucks dick.

"High in the clouds" shoulda been on here. pEace to K. Def and bLACK Rob. I imagine "coochie" will be on the retail.

LARRY O FROM REAL LIVE, Wednesday, 15 February 2006 11:24 (nineteen years ago)

Someone hook up an mp3 of "operator" since it's the Neptunes joint.

That "pop shit" ODB track on the NeptUNES "clones" cd was the best thing on there othen than teh sUPERCAT joint.

LARRY O FROM REAL LIVE, Wednesday, 15 February 2006 11:29 (nineteen years ago)

I think "Operator" was never properly released, it got leaked shortly after it was recorded, which was in 2003 I think. Wasn't it left off the Clones album for some reason? Anyway, when is A Son Unique coming out? Will it be on Roc-a-Fella?

That O.D.B track with Beanie over the "juice crew dis" beat is fresh too.

LARRY O FROM REAL LIVE, Wednesday, 15 February 2006 11:33 (nineteen years ago)

I've been listening to this for a week or so now - I really like most of it, but the thing I fixate on is "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," which is just this glorious trainwreck of a recording.
