I had this box set knocking about in the back of my head for the better part of a year, but I was at Other Music in NYC this afternoon and happened to see it perched high above the registers. At first I thought it was the long-awaited second volume of Raymond Scott's electronic music experiments, but upon fetching it down I decided it was equally intriguing and laid out the sixty clams.

Any opinions from prior owners? I've only gotten halfway through the first disc and I find it alternately creepy, hilarious, awe-inspiring, methodical/scientific, and so many other things. I was most blown away by Basta's typically outrageous packaging: seven entire full booklets, a fold-out poster, a few stickers, four CDs in paper slip cases, a newsclip reproduction, and their usual breathtaking graphic design. I don't know how the hell they do it.

Anyway, I'd be surprised to find many people who haven't already investigated this thing, but here's the official scoop for neophytes...
