I dunno where i agree about the Koletski track? What's up with that?

Also this poll is soooo much more my cup of tea than any other.

Thanks for posting this, it's a great list, certainly right up my alley as well. I'm a bit bummed that Stefan Goldmann's 'Blood' didn't make it into a lot of end of the year lists. It's one of my favorite singles of last year, but I guess it was released a bit late.

another note: the poll clearly reflects the gaining influence of minimal on the german scene.

i love groove--it's definitely the magazine that matches my interests the most closely--but i think i had more in common with the 2004 reader's poll than with the 2005 one. maybe i'm just behind the times, or something. i don't know.

i think it's interesting that for best label, there's that tension between m_nus (#1) and border community (#2) -- austere minimalism vs. warm, trancey melodicism. like a split-personality disorder or something.

"Blood" is a stand out EP! The Groove poll closed mid-november (!), so this one, as well as Cassy's brilliant Perlon 52 didn't make it in there. :-(

Fast becoming THE dance music poll to watch, in recent years it has seemed like readers of Groove have become one step ahead of the game, making the rest of us feel like we're playing catch up. For instance, in the 2004 Awards more than twelve months ago Dominik Eulberg and Mathew Johnson took out Best Newcomer and Best Producer respectively.

Unlike many UK and US polls, four of the Top 20 places in the Best International DJ vote went to females in Magda, Miss Kittin, Jennifer Cardini and Chloe.

points for honesty.
