ok.
we are in amsterdam.
it's the seventies.
"shocking blue"'s venus on the radio.
but it is just the begining of the mini-dutch-revolution:
"earth and fire" are on their way:
they will make 2 great 60's psychedelic-prog records, kinda similiar to "shockin's" stuff, but more dramatic, with bombastic keboards, like "mashmakam"s ("as years go by"),and add the famouse mellotron.
the hits will be "memories" and "marching children".
everything about them is goregeous and nostalgic.they have great lead singer.can you ask for more?
i waana go to amsterdam again.

I only remember one song around 1978 or so, which makes me very nostalgic. Forgot the name, probably their biggest hit.

Did these guys do "Maybe Tomorrow, Maybe Tonight"? I like that.

Or was that Kayak?

Matt #2 (Matt #2), Monday, 27 February 2006 13:11 (twenty years ago)

Totally totally classic. At least on that first LP (and period singles), which is the only thing I've heard. Fucking LOVE that record; I dunno why I haven't gotten around to picking up the later records...

It was they that did "Maybe Tomorrow.."

p.s. Is that what Jerney Kaagman looks like now?

last week i picked up a copy of the Andromeda Girl LP. still not sure about it. i've heard some other songs in the past that are kinda rad.

i've got the Maskmakhan "Days When We Are Free" 7" that i really like. is the rest of their stuff not so good?
