A song for Europe? I'm going for John Foxx, myself.

I'll go w/John Foxx as well. That's a fucking great album, though I played it to death when it came out.

Don't forget "European Son" - no matter, my vote goes to T. Dolby

there's a fine top of the pops performance of europe after the rain featuring the mighty odd eddie and sunshine .
but my vote would go to mr. dolby.

Wait, what's "European Female"? (I'd have to go Kraftwerk but John Foxx is pretty close.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:08 (nineteen years ago)

possibly one of the weakest stranglers singles ever.

frenchbloke (frenchbloke), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:09 (nineteen years ago)

oooh John Foxx vs Kraftwerk. I'm with Ned: a close one. I'll vote for Kraftwerk and regret it in the morning.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:18 (nineteen years ago)

Make mine Dolby. Never heard "European Female"; quite enjoy the other two.

Paul in Santa Cruz (Paul in Santa Cruz), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:19 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I'll admit I only added the Stranglers because I needed another other early 80s single with 'Europe' in the title. I love the era's fascination with the perceived hauteur and glamour of the Continent. Knowingly revived by Neil Hannon.

davidsim (davidsim), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:23 (nineteen years ago)

(OK, Kraftwerk were actually from the continent and it came out in 1977...)
