Remember one history behind the Apotheosis track.

Dan (There Is No 'S' In The Thread Title) Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:14 (nineteen years ago)

didn't apotheosis just rip off t99, except they were dumb enough to try to go commercial with an obvious rip, rather than being subtle about it, or am i remembering incorrectly?

rentboy (rentboy), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:19 (nineteen years ago)

They sampled a recording of "Carmina Burana" that was still under copyright without asking permission. They were sued and the record was pulled from print.

Dan (Hence, Illegal) Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

ah, ok. i didn't know the story behind it. in that case, good call!

Koenyg Cylinders - Carousel

I've never heard of this Apotheosis thing.

Sororah T Massacre (blueski), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:59 (nineteen years ago)

OMG really??????????

Dan (Get Thee To Filesharing Program STAT) Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 2 March 2006 22:01 (nineteen years ago)

reading my comment it appears that i didn't know that, but in fact i did. my comment was that the story on this was that they ripped the idea from t99, who did the same thing with a copyrighted chorus about 6months prior with "anasthasia", but was a lot more subtle and didn't get sued.

i jsut remember a lot of schadenfreude when apotheosis got nailed for this, because they were seen as idea thieves ala eric prydz, etc

also, do you think my 12" copies of "o fortuna" and/or "obumbratta" are worth anything?

rentboy (rentboy), Thursday, 2 March 2006 22:07 (nineteen years ago)

Drew Daniel (Drew Daniel), Friday, 3 March 2006 05:35 (nineteen years ago)

'drumtrip i' is on the '5 in one night' ep. also ace though 'druptrip ii' slightly eclipses it.
