If there is any German rap these days, I hope it's better than das Fantastische Vier (saw a video of theirs in 1995 when I was in Vienna and they sucked -- 4 Krauts acting as if Berlin is an American ghetto = NOT VERY FUCKING CONVINCING).

i once accidently downloaded a german rap mp3, that i actually found to be quite good. it was... *searching through files*

that's the name of the file, anyway. the production has a british kind of feel to it, like blade or something. it's real bouncy.

We are going on a, summer holiday, doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo!!!! were those cats german? anyways, I don't know german rap but I know lithuanian hiphop......lithuanian girls look the gracefullest out of all the balkans.....soft faces.....I swear most those other balkan chicks either look desperate and shiesty as balls, or they got that rock-hard eurotrash mouth formation that upon sight basically guarantees this chick is going to talk a) refugee nonsense b) semi-intelligible stuff, but nothing I can relate to at all.....like talking to seniors......the kind of mail-order bride that kills the husband....the modelling industry loves this look huh.....fuck absolutely everything having to do with the fashion industry, everything.....so this lithuanian cat I know, Mike, he's a hell of a guy, total refugee stereotype though.....same tracksuit every day, smokes mad weed, macks anything that moves at the lith. cultural center (and sometimes at the jewish center!), and has gangster ass, suicidal eating habits (I once heard he ate McDonalds Big Mac meal, McChicken Meal, and another McChicken Meal, for breakfast lunch and dinner respectively) heavy accent, makes the grossest, most random jokes in public....this guy is hilarious, the best....i wish you all could meet him.....so he plays these lithuanian hiphop tapes his family sends him from home in Vilnius.....supposedly they got "crazy fuckin heephob scene in vilnius man, fuck" ........so these tapes were GREAT once I got used to the herkyjerk way the syllables volley - great beats, they're no rookies over there.....look, you got to approach it like french, ruskie or jap rap....flip your "flow" standards and it'll sound natural soon enough after the kitsch period....i remember none of the crew names but you'll probably be able to download a few good tracks here. So back to lithuanian girls.....lately Mike is proud of Arija Bareikis ..... mainly because she is blowing up despite refusing to change that refugee-sounding trainwreck of a name to something more Hollywood......she stars in the dope shit Mike and I love....OZ.....and also in Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo.... she's the fresh faced cutie with one leg that just graduated school that Deuce falls for.....get this....Arija was 34 years old when she filmed Deuce Biggs.....right about now Mike would probably say something like "Lithuanain girl age well because I cum on all faces, all....supersperm"

There's a very very big scene, but there's not a whole lot of originality -- which is to say, although German is a very good language in which to rap (because they've been doing Sprachgesang for centuries), it sounds really stupid when folks try to do it in a piss poor Ebonics or cod Carribean accent. And most of them, sadly, do. There is a fair amount of verbal cleverness about, too, but fat lot of good that does non-German speakers.

But Fettes Brot ("Schwule Mädchen") are extremely cool, and Ferris MC has had some good singles ("Tanz mit Mir"). Fantastische Vier aren't always THAT bad, and tend to be better as solo artists. Dancehall style toasting and singjaying are also available from the acceptable Seeed ("Dickes B") and the absolutely ass-kicking Jan DeLay ("Ich Möchte Nicht, daß Ihr Meine Lieder Singt").

How would you rap in that language? I've heard good rap in Spanish and French but I'm having trouble imagining that many consonants flowing. But hey, Paul Barman busts out some yiddish here and there so what do I know.

ich sehs genauso wie manche leude hier. die briten sollen sich echt ma nich so aufführn. die kennen doch überhaupt keinen hiphop, das einzigtse was sie hörn is vielleicht spice girls. naja,nich mein problem!ich sag nur: Bleibt den deutschen hiphop treu!PEAZ!
