Dragon celebrates 30 years!Legendary rock group Dragon Celebrate 30 years In The April Sun with a one off show at the Harbour Lounge at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 4 April, 2009. In a special 2 hour show featuring original and present members (Todd Hunter, Robert Taylor, Kerry Jacobson, Alan Mansfield, Bruce Reid, Pete Drummond and vocalist, Mark Williams), Dragon get together for the first time since their inauguration into the ARIA Hall Of Fame and join together onstage to play all the hits of the last 30 years.Formed in New Zealand in 1973, Dragon relocated to Australia in 1975. Between 1975 and 1979, Dragon scored a string of major hits on the Australian pop charts with songs including April Sun in Cuba, Are You Old Enough and Still In Love With You and with the albums Sunshine and O Zambezi, making them one of the country's most popular rock acts of the time.Following a break up (1980) and numerous line-up changes, the band reformed in 1982 and went back into the studio to record Body and the Beat (1984) which became one of the biggest-selling albums in Australia and New Zealand.This one off show will also incorporate the premier screening of DragonTales, a short form documentary featuring Dragon videos with candid interviews and Dragon members talking about the songs, the recordings and just what the hell happened!Punters will also be treated to a special set by the Dragontinku Orchestra. This eclectic ensemble is what you get when you put Dragon and Sydney’s Tinku Band together on one stage and let them mash up Beatles classics! A fabulous melange of East Meets West - Heaven, Indian Style, comes to the Harbour Lounge.
