Spanish Disco

Or any decent disco tracks with a spanish guitar/latinny sound. I'm DJing at Manchester's local art-sy cinema bar next Saturday and there's a Spanish film festival going on at the same time so I figure I'll link the two.

The usual playlist is 70s/80s disco (slanted towards Larry Levan, Sly & Robbie, Disco Not Disco, etc), with a bit of obscuro 80s new wave (Gary Numan album tracks, Flock Of Seagulls, etc) so suggestions for anything similar would be great.

Gibson Bros (cheesy disco)
Anything by Expose (or other Miami mid 80s groups)
Jingo either Jellybean or Candido or any other version!
Salsoul Orchestra / Vincetn Montana had a few latiny tunes
Barricentro - Tittle Tattle (discoey)
Pet Shop Boys Domino Dancing has spanish guitar in it :)
Nancy Martin / Nancy Martinez (electrofunk / post-disco)
Que Tal America - two man sound (discoey)
and finally the great tune by T Coy - Carino!

I second the T-Coy shout! 'Mighty Girl' by Lindstrom & Prins Thomas has got a bit of a latinny feel to it, I think. Maybe more Italian than Spanish though. Might come down to Cornerhouse on Saturday. Especially if you're going to play 'Carino'.

Margueritas - "Margeherita (Hot Edit)" on Morgan Geist's Unclassics has a real nice latiny horn section on it.

There is a very good latin disco comp on Salsoul - not Spanish, I realized, but latin is pretty close.

Also, 'Coração Tambot' by Ian Pooley - v nice latiny house

There is a track by some 90s dance music duo (?) whose name I cannot recall that uses "Asturias" (?) by Albeniz (?). The vocal refarin is "right in the night", I think.

I remember it because I was appalled.

Sorry, this is a very half-baked answer.

Jam and Spoon?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, and although it's more 'village in Last Of The Summer Wine' than 'Spanish' I'm determined to play War's City Country City because it's beautiful and here it is.

Can't believe I didn't think of the 'Me No Pop I' song myself, love that track. Anyway I can pass off some Peech Boys stuff as Spanish?

And hey, yer mam! wondered when you'd start posting on here. Good to see you - get posting some re-edits on the YSI threads! I'll mail you properly tomorrow morning.

I like Alaska y Dinarama (and Fangoria, who are quite similar). My heart belongs to La Prohibida though.

New La Prohibida album out this month! She seems to be doing a mini European launch tour but I don't think she's coming to the UK.
