today i am loving the dirty spaced out swamp funk by the lost in drugs gang, sandals
the first album, 'rite to silence' is a damn fine work/headphone soundtrack, especially when they let loose during 'we wanna live' with production from leftfield adding some excellent oomph to the bass.
far better than anything else that was associated with the acid jazz tag (i dont really put Sandals in that camp - but others seem to).
anyway, a little digging revealed this nugget
"It was during the sessions for the "Cracked EP" that The Sandals first
worked with Luke Gordon. With the Spacer-to-be in tow they went on to record another album. Unfortunately the label failed to understand this second Sandals collection and the band were dropped. The album itself still sits in the label's vaults."
