This is an updated and remastered version of the soundtrack to the Fearless Freaks. It is said that this is a limited release only available at independent retailers, but it seems that Amazon and some Virgin stores are carrying it. Here is what Kliph, their touring drummer, says about the tracklisting differences: "the differences are thus: Wayne's intro is different (obviously!) "Free Radicals" and "Enthusiasm For Life" are on there The "Tommy" Medley has been removed from before "With You" "Every Christian Lion Hearted Man..." has been removed from before "Shine On Sweet Jesus" "The Observer" is from London in January 2003 Something to do with publishing is the reason for removing the "Tommy" Medley and the Bee Gees cover. Plus, there are liner notes and it comes in a jewel case instead of a paper sleeve. And Michael Ivins mastered it so it sounds better than the original one which I put together using only my computer." Also out today: the W.A.N.D. single in the U.S. with the B-sides "You've Got to Hold On" (awesome, a different version than the one that's been floating around) and "Time Travel...Yes!" The latter song sucks, the spacey music is good but Steve Burns recites lots of blabber about time traveling being about revisiting old memories or some crap. And the Soft Bulletin DVD/CD combo is out, and it rocks. But be warned, the first shipments went out with the wrong CD due to a Warner Brothers fuck-up. The tracklisting of the CD should be the same as the DVD of the album proper (not including bonus tracks). The CD should have the song Slow Motion on it and the whole album is remixed. The wrong shipments have the tracklisting and mix of the regular USA version. If you got the wrong one, mail it to The Flaming Lips P.O. Box 3265 Edmond OK 73083 USA. Michael has been mailing the correct ones back along with a handwritten letter of apology. I can't imagine he's going to do this for much longer though. The DVD is awesome, as good as the Yoshimi DVD if not better.

This *is* supposed to be for indie retailers only. I shall point this thread to the distro who made that claim and ask them about Virgin. Is it in their stores or just online? Maybe online sales are exempted or something...

Someone on the Flaming Lips message board said that they had purchased a copy at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square.

I haven't heard the rest but "Enthusiasm for Life" is what I hoped At War With The Mystics would sound like.
