this is an excerpt from a lindstrøm show at the nouvau [sic] casino in paris from "sometime in spring 2005." i am looking for recommendations about artists or songs that sound like this - a slow beat, arpeggiated bass, strings (terrible keyboard fills optional) - that aren't lindstrøm. longer songs are better. are there any great mixes to seek out?

dreamy ocean connotations a big plus.

Now you know where The Fast Show got the idea for CHANEL 9 NEWS from.

Anyway - "At Last I Am Free" pwns this thread.

The Chase by Giorgio Moroder. I too have become obsessed with this sound recently, mainly due to finding the chase on vinyl. For me that song is heaven.

This track should fit with what your looking for.

So, this is not a Chantelle thread then?

should it be? i'll look into all of these names. i've never heard moroder do what i described so i'll check it out.

so i just found out that the song i like so much from that set is produced by lindstrøm under the pseudonym six cups of rebel. it's called 'kontroll (the organ-grinders breakdown)', and it's from the 'arp she said' ep. it's great.
