Perfect "Wedding Songs"

I know this may seem like a dreadfully silly thread (mostly because the choice of one's wedding song should really be contingent on the respective tastes and shared-experiences of the two individuals involved), but in all seriousness, the future Mrs. & m'self are stumped! We're getting hitched in July, and the songs that are meaningful/relevant to both of us are either too dour ("Golden Brown" by the Stranglers, "Home is Where the Hatred Is" by Gil Scott-Heron), completely inappropriate for a proper wedding song ("Safe From Harm" by Massive Attack), or just plain wrong. I thought "And I Love Her" by them old Fabs would be nice, but ya can't really dance to it. By the same token, we'd really rather avoid something particularly cheesy and/or cliched. Current contenders include Nancy Sinatra's smouldering theme from "You Only Live Twice" (my vote) or Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" (her vote), which is a bit problematic due to its slightly sinister closing verse of "You're Going to Reap Just What You Sew!" Clearly, we need inspiration. Your thoughts please?

Wait wait wait, explain why "Safe From Harm" is not a proper wedding song?

Well, for a start, it's quite a bit on the dark side. Lyrically, "But If You Hurt What's Mine...I'll Sure As Hell Retaliate!" isn't quite the sentiment for the occaission. Great song...one of my favorites...but not quite the right one for the job.

It's a little sinister-sounding for a wedding maybe, but I don't see why that should be a barrier.

I Just Wanna by KISS

"Damaged" or whatever it's called by the Rolling Stones.

"I'm down in Virginia, with your cousin, Lou! There'll be no wedding todaaaayyyy!"

Sheer genius.

Oh, I shouldn't drink coffee, my ulcer is killing me.

That Smog tune:

"I'm going to get drunk, so drunk, at your wedding"

I weep kaluha at the very thought.

Nick Lowe's "I Knew the Bride When She Used to Rock and Roll", and Aphex Twin, "Boy/Girl Song" would be mine...

Is "Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space" too cheesy and cliched?

How about "Get It On Tonite" by Montell Jordan?

VU's "I'm sticking with you" - I supplied this one when I was best man and it struck an amusingly desperate cloying note.

I know someone who is actually going to play "Brain Damage" and "Eclipse" by Pink Floyd. Needless to say, I can only speculate on their mental state ...

Speaking of cloying and desperate, howabout "Nobody Wants To Be Lonely" by Ricky and Christina?
