Our kid was talking about her dream band - Beyonce,Sisquo and Red Rat - produced by Missy Elliott. This reminded me of teenage pub agruments about imaginary supergroups - Bon Scott,Jimi Hendrix,Geddy Lee and Keith Moon versus Stevie Nicks*,Terminator X,Mick Karn and the Edge etc.WHAT WOULD BE YOUR IDEA OF A DREAM SUPERGROUP made up of currently recording 'artists' ?

(Thankz to whoever was behind the Stevie vs. Vini Reilly over casio 'Silver' and Mahler meets Robbie Williams over ragga breaks - keep sampling illegal - mp3/CDR roolz )

I think Lee (Steps), Mark (Westlife), Ritchie (5ive), Ben (a1) and the blond one out of Northern Line would make a good (but very very camp) boyband.

Danny out of Hear'Say, Jane MacDonald, Caprice and the one out of Misteeq who emcees live on "Why?", all produced by Mutt Lange.

Flavor Flav, J-Lo, Pete Townshend and Number 6 (Slipknot).

The one in Blink 182 with the tattoos, Charlotte Church and DJ Martian (on decks).

On vocals: Alice Cooper, Jeff Magnum and Jon Bon Jovi. Guitars: Slash, J Mascis. Bass: that guy from Primus. Drums: Birdstuff. Keyboards: Barbara Morgenstern and all of Kraftwerk. Brass: the guys from Elephant6. To write the songs I'd have: Stephen Malkmus and Rivers Cuomo. Produced by Brian Wilson. Band name: Hang on to Your Ego.

Bjork and the D.R.E., wow, that would be surprising. Just imagine adding Blixa Bargeld for guitar texture and Jarvis for salacious vocal ad libs...

The ultimate supergroup alrady exists- they call themselves "Half Man, Half Biscuit".

Steven James, Saturday, 31 March 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Bjork and D'Angelo on vocals. John McEntire on drums, James Jamerson, and... David Byrne, whose guitar playing I always loved.

Timbaland, of course, would oversee all operations.

Dude. The greatest supergroup already existed.

DAMN YANKEES.

Dude...

JM, Saturday, 31 March 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Nah.. The early Golden Palaminos were the perfect supergroup. to invent my own -- Jeff Muller and Jason Noble (formerly of Rodan) on guitar, The Wideboys doing drum programming, Tom Verlaine singing (voice processed by Todd Edwards) with backup vocals from Nivea, and Flood producing.

Sterling Clover, Saturday, 31 March 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Not sure about the other members, but Delia Derbyshire and Timbaland would both be involved somewhere.
