Abbey Road,Low,Before And After Science - flip them over and they change into completely different albums. Can anyone give me more examples like these - the medium is obviously different now,but what other albums metamorphose into something completely different at the halfway point? And I don't really mean going from good to craptacular.

Eels' debut opus "Beautiful Freak". First six tracks have a kind of quasi-Weezer, college rock vibe, final half is more disturbed and downbeat. According to Captain Chuckles himself, E, the first half is meant to be what its like to be a freak, and the second half is a celebration of freakdom.

Obviously.

Steve Wynn's "Here come the miracles" felt like it had two personalities/temperaments. During the interview I did with Wynn, he confirmed this.

Cyndi Lauper's She's So Unusual. The second side was a completely different record--a bad one.

Lloyd Cole's "Don't Get Weird on Me Babe". First half standard Lloyd Cole songwriter pop. Second half is with an orchestra but not overproduced. Probably my favourite disc by Lloyd Cole.

Bowie's "Heroes" of course also does the same trick as "Low". Laura Nyro's "Christmas and the Beads of Sweat" has a different backing band on each side, and the difference is pretty audible.

Aren't the sides of Mos Def's Black On Both Sides supposed to be both "black", but different in some other way? I haven't paid attention when I've played the CD.
