They also reproduced statistics from web tracking services such as Technorati showing there was little interest in her website until the first stories appeared in the London Evening Standard and the Sunday Times. "All we wanted to do was get her to a place where she could be taken to the national press," said Ms Harris. "Then it all kicked off. There's no big mystery." Once Thom was signed by RCA, which has been promoting her single around the country with posters hailing "the singer who webcast to the world from her Tooting basement", its own press department took over.

My parents listen to clyde 2 and its inescapable on there. And everytime im in their car its on clyde 1 as well. As mentioned above its on its sister station Forth FM all thetime as well.

You know what people are like up here. If its scottish* and its a hit they love it and the Daily Record gives the band/artist blanket coverage.

Just heard this ("Flowers," obv) for the first time and god, what a waste of a nice sound on a terrible lyric. Like the spareness, harmonies with the big chunky beat, it could be really cool...but if you pay the slightest attention to what's being said it's just unbearable. If she actually had the energy to critique the nostalgia being shoveled it'd be worth it, but it's like all the worst aspects of that "1985" song and people singing "Lord Won't You Buy Me A Mercedes Benz" at karaoke.
