I hear this release is supposed to be quite good and I'm going through a big krautrock phase right now however it wasn't addressed in the Julian Cope "Krautrock sampler" that someone was incredible enough to YSI a couple months ago and was wonder what to expect, what it sounds like (comparisons and contrasts to other bands is always helpful), and if the CD is worth paying $30 for.

It's cool. Proggy, melodic, spontaneous and unpredictable. You could try Googling a blog called "8 Days in April," which has it for download.

It's absolutely brilliant, one of my favorite albums. Very like Pink Floyd's pastoral phase circa More, only with longer tracks, a more experimental feel and the minimum of lyrical content.

Just try not to get the 'expanded' version, which spoils it somewhat with the bonus tracks, one of which is some kind of execrable 90s dance music.

It's not worth $30, but not much is. It's a good record though.

yeah Milton - 8 Days rules, have fun! I've only hit one bad link so far.

its beautiful in a somewhat goofy way - the booklet accompanying the cd version has some hilarious photos chronicling the evolution of the band from well-mannered european beat combo to hairy krautrockers.
