I can't upload stuff to Filepile anymore from work. I don't think this is an intentional thing on the part of my work (as if they actually investigated my internet use they'd bloke ILX first) just bad luck after some system reorganisation.

But my account is still 'good' so to speak, so I'm wondering if anybody here wants to share it and upload stuff. Basically I'd be looking for people wanting to upload music across a wide range of genres, but centered on pop and generally avoiding indie and underground hip-hop (not because I don't like them but because they are very very well-represented on filepile). In return you get my password and are able to download stuff. It'd be kind of first-come-first-served but I'd like it to be people I know and trust from here.

If you don't know what Filepile is don't worry about it.

well i've already got it, as you know, and i've put up the house crew, jonny l, prima donnas and smashing orange so far. i've been occasional with what i've put up so far because i didn't want to put too much up, but that can change if people want...

Yeah Gareth's shared membership is a perfect example.

Tom, Thursday, 14 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh Gareth (and other future members) - could you put a comment on each song you upload, just saying what it is etc.?

Tom, Thursday, 14 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Can I join?

mp3 novice question:

I have "downloaded" quite a few mp3s from the interweb and saved them on the office server. I'm told this is probably illegal on several fronts and should shift them quick. Could filepile be a potential home for these? What exactly is involved in "uploading" mp3's? Do I need special software? (If yes, then forget it; I'd never get permission to download it.)

(p.s. they're not all crap, these mp3s, honest)

I'll upload random classical stuff I run across, starting with Joei's audition songs. (Which reminds me that I already owe those to some folks...)

Dan Perry, Thursday, 14 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Tom, I had the password but I lost it. Happy to upload stuff on a regular basis.
