No Muppets no credibility. That said, the dancing syncs up well.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 April 2006 15:44 (twenty years ago)

I always thought they would look cooler than that.

Good Dog (Good Dog), Friday, 7 April 2006 15:44 (twenty years ago)

The banjo's undermic'ed.

Eric Harvey, Friday, 7 April 2006 16:15 (twenty years ago)

The joke became tired after about five seconds :(

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Friday, 7 April 2006 16:29 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but what if it was THE PEANUTS dancing to OUTKAST????

Not really much of a stretch from this:

How much do you think Lydon hates those kids in the audience? With the fire of a thousand suns?

polyphonic (polyphonic), Friday, 7 April 2006 16:56 (twenty years ago)

I think Dick must have paid the people in the audience to clap. Either that or they're wearing hidden earphones and listening to the O'Jays.

Jim M (jmcgaw), Friday, 7 April 2006 16:57 (twenty years ago)

How much do you think Lydon hates those kids in the audience? With the fire of a thousand suns?

But less than he hates Keith Levene I imagine

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:00 (twenty years ago)

Said it before, will say it again -- if Mark David Chapman had stalked John Lydon instead of John Lennon in December 1980, the latter would be a dull boring burnout nobody would care about much and the former would have become the rock martyr of martyrs. (Especially since his recorded legacy would have consisted solely of the Pistols and the first two PiL albums.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:02 (twenty years ago)

But John isn't a dull boring burnout nobody

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:05 (twenty years ago)

This man would agree with you, Ned.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:05 (twenty years ago)

Whoops, I didn't mean to post that in that form!

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:05 (twenty years ago)

Heheheh.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:08 (twenty years ago)

Mark David Chapman had stalked John Lydon instead of John Lennon in December 1980, the latter would be a dull boring burnout nobody would care about much

Actually, the Beatles would have probably reformed for a concert tour in the mid-90's and made a zillion billion (more) dollars, rescuing Lennon from burnout status a la mid-90's Brian Wilson.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:13 (twenty years ago)

Then would Paul Cook have been the conductor on Shining Time Station?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:19 (twenty years ago)

I'm all for that idea. (Huk's not Barry's.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:24 (twenty years ago)

Hmm...I think Ned's theory may have some merit.

Porcupine Kiss, Novacaine Lips (Bimble...), Friday, 7 April 2006 17:50 (twenty years ago)

Lennon would probably be on his eighteenth comeback by now. Discarded and championed in equal measures, in alternating year-and-a-half periods.

gooblar (gooblar), Friday, 7 April 2006 20:24 (twenty years ago)

hey! let's debate the Beatles!

C/D?

jinx hijinks (sanskrit), Friday, 7 April 2006 20:26 (twenty years ago)

can we instead make up a modern-day traveling wilburys w/ john lydon pls

A|ex P@reene (Pareene), Friday, 7 April 2006 20:35 (twenty years ago)

That's a nice idea. John Lydon - vox/tambourine, Mike Watt - bass, David Byrne - guitar 1, John McLaughlin - guitar 2, Chris Cutler - drums

eek, Friday, 7 April 2006 21:14 (twenty years ago)
