lcd all the way. "yeah (crass)" is probably my favourite track of the century.

...but less than human is probably the best DFA album.

Less than Human bored me, but they're both great live.

I heard a few tracks from Maclean, really didn't see why people could say it was as good as LCD Soundsystem. I wonder if LCD's next album will suck, though.

i loved lcd's album the first listen. the second i was kinda bored with it. singles are the BOMB!(?) my vote goes for the Juan (and only).

juan maclean-zero ego many good tunes

lcd soundsytem-stupid overblown ego couple of amazing tunes

both-not as good as many other faceless better artists.

Give Me Every Little Thing >>>>>>> LCD Soundsystem (and frankly, most things)

I love LCD, but I think I just may love Juan Maclean's "Dance With Me" more than anything they do as well. However, "Losing My Edge" is like The Divine Comedy of dance music lyricism, and is far more clever than anything Juan has offered in that respect.

Chantilly Bass (ChantillyBass), Monday, 17 April 2006 02:23 (twenty years ago)

i vote for the juan maclean. he has more tunes i would come back to, again and again. the problem with most LCD tunes is that they don't have great replay value (as in, once you figure out the 'secret' of the track, get to the amazing breakdown or whatever, it sounds less surprising the more you listen to it.) that said, 'beat connection' is one of my favorite tunes ever and the lyrics pretty much encapsulate the new york experience (ha ha!) for me i think. much more than "losing my edge."

geeta (geeta), Monday, 17 April 2006 02:28 (twenty years ago)

that said, the one breakdown in an LCD tune that i will never get sick of is the lindstrom remix of 'tribulations'.

i don't know... lcd soundsytem has more people in it, and maybe tyler knows kung fu or something, but Juan and those dudes are pretty fucking hardcore. plus they have glowsticks and shit. I'd say if it came down to it, the juan would win against lcd, but not after a good fight

LCD!

Tokyo Ghost Stories (Tokyo Ghost Stories), Monday, 17 April 2006 03:29 (twenty years ago)

LCD by far. I never seem to remember TJM's tracks, though I like them when I hear them; I always remember LCD's.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Monday, 17 April 2006 03:43 (twenty years ago)

juan maclean sucks, lcd sucks....but i do kinda like "i'm losing my edge"

so, i guess lcd wins this one.

I'd still go LCD, just. really wanna hear the next juan album though.

john(juan) maclean used to be in Six Finger Satellite. so that makes him cooler.
