Bands that sound like The Coughs

Can anyone help me with this?

The female vocals aren't a requirement, but the extreme noise/violence IS. I should probably try some other bands on Load Records, but I've heard Lightning Bolt and that's not what I'm looking for. Their noise isn't extreme enough for what I'm trying to find.

Magik Markers. A little bit less 'punk' and more 'noise' than the Coughs.

(Though this is only from my impression of the Coughs live set, which is fucking awesome...don't know what their records sound like)

Yeah, I'm familiar with them already, but exactly the type of thing I'm looking for.

So uhh...anyone know any bands that sound like The Coughs OR the Magik Markers?

Yeah, the Peppermints are good, too. Forgot about them-

Also, try blastitude.com-- they cover this type of stuff pretty well.

Mars

Mars are a bit too no-wave, as in their songs are actually songs. Noisy, but songs.

Pissed Jeans= fuck yeah.

Total Shutdown too, maybe. Arab on Radar? Lake of Dracula?

i wish the magik markers were little kids. it's so dissapointing that they're all over 13. why does everybody blindly accept the ubiquitous, fascist 4/4 beat?!

dooblay, Wednesday, 12 April 2006 15:25 (twenty years ago)

Because they don't, really?

Red Transistor!

I've actually never heard Coughs. LOVE the Markers though. God, I love that band.

Ian is pretty much OTM. Maybe Hair Police. Some Skullflower?

"the ubiquitous, fascist 4/4 beat"
pythagoras, tiger.

Arab on Radar
Sick Lipstick
Landed
Zuinosin
Most recent Load releases are more like this than Lightning Bolt. At this
point, Bolt are pretty much Load's pop band.
Ass Baboons from Venus
And there's all sorts of stuff if you like a more hardcore/grind rhythm
section.
