not intended to be a YSI posting thread. just a discussion.

YSI.

Z-Share is obnoxious. Thoughts?

Z-Share ...

sometimes it doesn't load, sometimes it just lets me preview tracks, and if nothing else there are a few screens i have to pass to check out tracks. ugh. i've been spoiled by the fast-paced, luxury of YSI.

tangentially, which pay site for MP3s do you find to have the best selection?

I sense impending doom for this thread...!

Um... there are about a million of these kinds of services now?

sendspace seems to have the nicest, cleanest fuss-free YSI like interface but I haven't looked at any of them that often really.

This would appear to be the final stage for truly distributed p2p, there are already engines of search (NSFW) that deal only with indexing your megauploads & such. And blogs. What any of these are thinking w/r/t the law I have no idea.

Really? Search engines that index file share providers? I thought that (Rapidshare at least) the companies took great pains to not index stuff so that it's hard to find by random googlism.

I'm glad you brought this up. About a week ago I went to download a file on Z share and couldn't, for the life of me, figure out where the hell the download button was. After 10 scrolls and lots of cursing, I finally figured out that there was a popup add DIRECTLY over the download icon. Clever. And I thought trying to decipher the codes that are impossible to read on Rapidshare was bad enough. Please, if you have no reason to use Z or Rapidshare, save your comrades the frustration. Not that it's torture or anything, but I like to get my kicks in under 3 clicks.
