Oh, and Joe Fagin too, presumably called "That's England alright"
I mean, apart from the "Three Lions" and "Vindaloo" year, you don't get the top 20 full of football songs.
So, that's now Embrace, Bez, Sham 69 and Joe Fagin.
add others..

Alan Sugar has teamed up with the Sugarbabes to make an alternate alternate alternate alternate England Soccer anthem. Sugar, 57, known for being the man who says "You're fired" on the telly, said it would be written by directors, for directors, and is based on the song that was a hit for the Archies, but would have a chorus of "England! A hole in my arse!". DAve Rowntree of Blur is going to rap on it. The b-side is two budgerigars."

The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins is to release his own World Cup anthem - and it's bound to prove controversial.
Going up against Embrace's official Germany 2006 England song 'World At Your Feet', Hawkins has previewed his own song, 'England', under his solo name British Whale.
The star told The Sun newspaper that he thinks England's bid for glory is being undermined by political correctness, with people being too scared to mention the Second World War triumph of 1945.
In response, 'England' mentions the event in the lyrics.
Hawkins said: "The whole point of an England World Cup song is to assert our national identity and talk about the achievements of a great nation.
"Why can't we commemorate all those men who gave their lives in the name of freedom in the war? And, of course, in this case - to bash The Hun? It's a national sport."
The lyrics include lines like: "Football will be our only weapon / skill and power will be our only shield / we've fought them on the beaches / now we'll play them on the field."

The guitarist has joined Sham 69's Jimmy Pursey for the reworking of the punk band's 'Hurry Up Harry' into 'Hurry Up England'.
New group Louie also feature on the record, providing backing vocals.
All funds raised from the sale of the single will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
A release date for 'Hurry Up England' is yet to be confirmed.

Right, it seems that Jimmy Pursey has decided that he is still the people's champion. Basically laying claim to be the number 1 england song of the tournament.
Meanwhile, some band called Ricky (they were on Jo Wiley's radio show on Bank Hol Monday's celebrity day, "Ricky" special) have gone up and down the country, recording at school assemblies, and adding all the vocals so recorded to their song, which is aparently to benefit a childrens charity (forget which one at the moment), but seemingly if every child's family buy one, that's the certain top record.

World at yr feet3 lionsThe Sham 69 people's liberation army rise up and take control of the media to proclaim the state independant of bourgeois control and England to win the world cup,and some song about Jurgen Klinsman.
as a solid bank in the top ten (or thereabouts)
and Stan Boardman, and some sport news station slightly lower down.
Past years, there'd be a ton of different football tribute records, none of which would make the chart. What changed? oh and whatever happened to Bez's one?

When he croaks "Beckham scores a penalty," that qualifies as a candidate for worst moment in pop music ever.
Re. Colourbox World Cup Theme - did any WC-related records chart in '86, or were any even released? I can't think of any offhand but I'm sure someone will put me right.
