a bunch of us saw MiniKISS in nyc a few years ago. it was a little painful to watch, but if it makes them happy, why not?

Yeah, I heard about this. I DJed before, during and after Mini-Kiss at the show jodias is talkin about (they do karaoke, and just gave me a Kiss greatest hits instrumental CD with a short list of the song order... their "entrance" song is New York Groove, of course) and after the show I got to talking with Joey Fatale, who runs "Littleman Entertainment" and he was nice but also seemed like somebody you would not want to mess with...

You'll notice a Sean Delaney in the credits for that LP -- he was one of KISS's regular roadies/go-to guys in the seventies, and he's a second cousin of mine.

Kiss has been a fertile source of novelty tribute bands...several years ago, there was a Detroit band called Aces High...they were all (you guessed it) decked out like Ace Frehley...

MiniKISS all stayed at the hotel where I work, maybe a year and a half ago? They ordered a pretty decent amount of room service and tipped appropriately every time, which immediately places them among the upper echelon of hotel guests. So my vote's for them, although I don't actually know anything about their performance. I remember them coming across as genuine KISS fans, although a joke I made about Vinnie Vincent seemed to zip right past somebody (the manager?)...
