The album, not the dire single.

An album that's been rather forgotten, despite the fact that it hit number one, spawned three top 10 singles, and sold several million copies. As a Can't Slow Down fan I've been tempted to buy it, but of the singles only "Love Will Conquer All" has conquered me.

How does it compare to its blockbuster predecessor?

Not as good as "Can't Slow Down", but better than its reputation. "Ballerina Girl" is one of his best songs ever.

three years pass...

"Ballerina Girl" is AWFUl. But, boy, "Love Will Conquer All" stands up nicely. Like "Stuck On You," it's effortless.
